Students, in teams of 3-10, will design and build model rockets to compete in the 2017 Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC). This year’s contest requires that rockets use two different diameters for their exterior construction to carry a raw egg to a 775 feet (236 meters) target altitude and return the egg safely to the ground in 41 to 43 seconds. In addition to club activities, students will have the opportunity to learn about careers in the aeronautics industry, visit the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, and participate in the 2017 TARC Championships on May 13th at The Plains, VA.

Are you interested in root words, origins, definitions and challenging words to spell? If yes, join the Spelling Bee Club. This club prepares you for the local spelling bee competitions, and if you’re a great speller, you may even qualify for the National Scripps Spelling Bee.
